The Pout-Pout Fish goes to School
It is the first day of school and Mr. Fish is very nervous and anxious! He is scared that he doesn't know how to write his name, how to draw shapes, or how to do math. Everybody else would know it! When he fails in a lot of things, he just wants to give up. Finally, Mr. Fish understands that it is okay to not know all the things but to learn them one by one!
Title: The Pout-Pout Fish Goes to School
Author: Deborah Diesen
Illustration: Dan Hanna
Publisher: Farrar, Straus and Giroux
This would be a perfect read-aloud for toddlers and little kids since this story is about how to overcome the fear of going to school for the first time. They would love the illustrations in this book.
This would also be a good read for lower-level elementary kids as well.
