Shermy & Shake - The Not-So-Nice Neighbor

Shermy is excited for the upcoming summer and he is planning to do lots of favorite activities like reading, doing puzzles, collecting small treasures, etc. Meanwhile, Shake has just moved into town and is going to spend the summer with his grandmother. They happen to be Shermy's neighbors! Despite being new to the town, Shake is adjusting pretty well to the new school, kids, and environment. However, Shermy is the one who is affected as his quiet summer seems to be ruined by his next-door neighbor!

Eventually, Shermy's attitude begins to change. In spite of their differences, as time goes on, Shermy and Shake start to get along together. They actually learn to get past their differences and to even like each other as friends!
Later on, when no one interrupts Shermy even while he is reading, Shermy starts missing Shake. When Shermy goes in search of Shake, he finds Shake crying since he is missing his mom! Shermy and Shake don't even understand that they have become inseparable friends!
This book can be a read-aloud or an independent read for elementary kids who have started reading chapter books. As kids go through this story, they will start finding their own selves and will be able to relate well to the incidents in this story.
