Scaredy Squirrel places objects to distract trespassers, such as a fake tree for a mammoth to uproot or a scratching post for a cat. These objects get dusty, and from them, springs dust bunnies. The squirrel thinks he could vacuum them off, but the vacuum gets clogged. So, as he plans on and on, more and more challenges and roadblocks keep appearing. To everyone's surprise, he gets to be friends with a real bunny by the end of this adventure!
- Cartoon-like illustrations.
- Expressive faces of characters.
- Clearly defined and uncluttered-looking pages.
- Very interesting book for beginning readers and elementary-aged kids.
- Peculiar features of this book include expressions such as "dust bunnies" and "Nutty (Table of) Contents".

Even though this is a story of a Scaredy Squirrel coming face to face with different fears and challenges, this story also teaches kids about how to face those challenges and develop different plans in case one fails.
