Everybody Needs a Rock

This book has been my favorite for quite a while now. This is not a typical story book - it is poetry that is written in prose.

In this story, it is believed that everybody needs the right rock. There are 10 rules to help us find the exact rock that is made for each one of us. There is a girl in this story who is happy having a rock as her friend. She is surprised that many kids have tricycles, horses, playhouses, etc and they consider these items as their friends.

This thoughtful book gives us so many lessons that are very important to our lives like, how one should give more attention to the little things, listen to and believe in oneself, and not believe in what others say about you.
It would be a good read-aloud or even a good read for elementary and above kids.
