A Christmas too Big
Kerry's family goes full out for the holidays!
It's the day after Thanksgiving and Kerry's family cannot contain their excitement of upcoming Christmas. Holiday lights, cookies in the kitchen, Christmas music and TV shows, elves..... the list goes on and on. Kerry feels a little too overwhelmed about all these and goes out for a walk. She finds her neighbor Mrs. Flores and helps her out with her stuck shopping cart.
Kerry finds out that Mrs. Flores doesn't go all out for Christmas and keeps it simple and minimal. However, Mrs. Flores feels very sad because her family and friends are not close by. Fortunately, Kerry's presence helps alleviate those grim feelings of Mrs. Flores. Kerry understands that Christmas can still be big without many decorations or treats, but only when you have loved ones nearby.
Slight humor mixed with a lot of heart and feelings - adorable and detailed illustrations support the storyline very well. This can be a really good read-aloud for little kids and toddlers as well as a good read for elementary kids.
